It primarily seems to be battle eye which requires the admin permission. Windows has been reinstalled on both systems several times since they have been using steam. I have 2 sons who use steam, both have this issue. If admin permissions are being requested everytime someone tries to launch any game, then I would reinstall Windows because somebody has probably been tweaking under the hood (maybe to get an buggy or ancient game to run? something like that) and screwed up the permissions across the entire system.

It would also limit his gaming time and give very easy to understand instructions on how to save the game etc before it would forcefully log the kid out of the computer. I know someone who made special software for his little brother that would force him to learn math if he wanted to unlock the computer.

I've edited the security settings to have full control, and I've set to run as admin in compatibility settings as well. One of the ways to be able to install program without admin rights in Windows 10 is to convert your standard user account to an administrator account on your PC. I've done searches to try to find solutions and all I could come up with was to run it as administrator. As it is, I can't use it to create any files, add to files, or just about anything other than read, and sometimes extract from compressed archives. I've set them to always run as administrator, and even launching the file manager by right clicking and selecting "Run as administrator" fails to produce any results. Everything else I get an error message saying "The requested operation requires elevation.", and then a file path showing which executable it's referring to.

At first I had problems with context menus not appearing, but that was resolved when I realized I'd installed the 32 bit version instead of 64 bit. So I've been pretty lazy with installing all my programs from XP on my new Windows 7 machine (Win 7 Pro 64bit), and finally got around (through necessity) to installing 7-zip.
